Digital Citizenship Week is October 15-19!
All grade levels will have Digital Citizenship lessons this month! Parents, Common Sense Media has many helpful resources. There are two links on my side bar. It's nearly April! The year has gone flying by!
Most grade levels are working hard on Digital Citizenship and enjoying the activities involved. Third and Fourth have also been working on their keyboarding skills and will soon begin preparing for the MAP test on their Chromebooks. 2nd graders discussed things that happened in October using a Round Robin format. They did a great job taking turns and coming up with things to put on their list!
4th graders are finishing up a unit on digital citizenship. We have had some good discussions!
3rd graders have learned to log into their Google Classroom to complete an assignment. They have worked on copy & paste as well as multiplication games for practice. 2nd graders took a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo! They really enjoyed watching the live animal cams. 1st graders have worked on short vowels and fire safety. They have also just begun playing on their Teach your Monster to Read accounts. (It warms my little teacher heart when I hear "I didn't like it; I loved it!") Kindergartners have gotten good with their mouse and keyboard and have learned how to play a variety of games that include counting practice, letter practice and shape practice. The 2017-2018 school year is off to a fantastic start!
4th grade has already joined their Computer Lab Google Classroom and worked on a Slide. We will be adding another slide next week . 3rd grade has used a website to write, draw, and print. Many chose to write about and illustrate the solar eclipse which was a neat opportunity to witness and record. 2nd and 1st grade got back into the swing of things by reviewing our PAWS expectations and playing a familiar game on either their Teach Your Monster to Read or ABC Mouse account. K began learning our PAWS expectations as well as the parts of a computer. They did a great job getting onto their 1st game and really enjoyed it! I just came across this router which looks to possibly be a great tool for parents! I have no personal experience with this item; just thought I would put a link on here if anyone would like to check it out. If you have any feedback, let me know!
